Each division has a different rate depending on the business type [Pub, Restaurant, Hotel, Gym, Events-Garden, etc.]
Today there are several different companies providing music, Including computerized playlist systems and royalties services. Unfortunately, often those companies "save" the business owner the hassle of handling it himself but do not specify the royalties fees. Therefore, the business owner gets a global price on "music services" but doesn’t know how much he is paying for royalties and to what company, if at all.

Israeli records and cassettes Federation Ltd. - P.I.L - Federation of Israeli and Mediterranean Music Ltd. - Acum ACUM is a non-profit corporation administering the rights assigned to it by its members – authors, composers, lyricists, poets, arrangers and music publishers.
The rights administered by ACUM include performing rights, mechanical rights (audio and audio-visual reproductions),

By its reciprocal representation agreements ACUM also administers these rights- fully or partly on behalf of hundreds of thousands members of 107 affiliated Societies from all over the world

I have a small business / A Kiosk / Hair Salon and the music is not loud, do I still have to pay?!
You most certainly do.
Whether your music equipment is worth 20,000 NIS or you play music from tv or radio. Any public music playing needs to be paid for. Under copyrights law the copyright holder is entitled to a 10,000 - 20,000 compensation for each violation. A famous case- a Hair Salon in Tel Aviv who at the time had only the staff and 4 clients
present was fined and paid for violation of copyrights as well as attorney fees and costs. We play only Israeli/International music, do we pay only ACUM? Negative.
All Israeli / International artists are also represented in Israel by royalty companies. The business owner must pay the record company that produced the disc as well as the copyright holders in Israel. Is there a way not to pay at all?
According to copyright laws the song becomes public domain 70 years after the death of the author-
If you play Mozart or any other artist already been 70 years since his death and the creation is not protected -you do not need to pay. Needless to say every artist wants to make a living of his work, so in most cases he is protected by a royalty company. Therefore most popular music playing in public is protected. I’m already paying television broadcasting fee and the cable company, they should leave me alone!

Franchises chains with over 500 aggregate seating places have a different rate if they pay together. There is also a 10% new client discount the first year . The Israeli Federation for records and tapes Ltd
gives discounts mostly to chains. Eg in coffee shops 5-9 5% 10-15 10% 16-20 15% 21-30 20% P.I.L – Have chains discounts.
Each case is individual.
I am closed during the summer / winter /on weekends, do I need to pay full price?
Not in ACUM,
In ACUM the rate is relative to the seasons or days of the week you're closed on. The Federation / P.I.L - full price as far as we know.
